When you see Val teaching it is very obvious that she has a real passion for what she does; and her enthusiasm is infectious. She is happy to work through a variety of music styles with my children, and they have done classical, jazz, blues and rock, as well as technical aspects like scales and musical theory. She is very patient and she also takes a real interest in her pupils lives beyond the piano, always asking about schools, holidays and events. My children have made great progress and regained enthusiasm with her after having come to a standstill and lost interest with a different local teacher, which has been great to see. Very highly recommended.

Val is a hard-working and dedicated piano teacher that supports you to become the best musician you can be. She is an expert at helping and motivating you to move through your scales, musical theory and grades. Val has been a wonderful teacher over the past 6 years and I couldn’t imagine progressing through learning the piano with anyone else :)

Both of my children had piano lessons with Val for over 10 years. What a wonderful teacher! Both children had very different learning styles but Val adapted to their needs. They were always well prepared for exams and passed with flying colours. Val was like an additional grandparent! She always showed interest in the children and continues to do so many years later. I’ve been going to Val for piano lessons since I was 4, and I’m now 18. Can positively say that it was the best decision I could have made. I have learnt everything from theory, to the scales, the classical and jazzy and bluesy pieces, and even just how to feel the music as you play. We definitely worked hard but also had lots of fun and lots of laughs! Very grateful I got to go to such an amazing piano teacher, I can’t imagine I’ll ever stop playing. Thank you Val x
